Just like the 3 words in the title, the letters above all make a word of 5 letters containing B, M and at least one other letter worth at least 3 points.

There are plenty of other words that also fit those criteria, but I have selected those 12 combinations to challenge you to find the words you might know. Hopefully you will learn some new words as well

Each combination only makes one word

THE ANSWERS

HAMBA

A South African exclamation telling someone to go away. It is worth remembering that it cannot be pluralised with an S at the end, but that it can have an S at the start to make SHAMBA. Only then can an S be put at the other end for SHAMBAS

ABAMP

A unit of electrical current equal to 10 amperes. At the start of a game it is quite a good score of 28 with the A in the middle of the board. It also provides a great opportunity to score 42 with 3 very common letters by extending it to ABAMPERE

WEAMB

Another spelling of the word WOMB. Other alternate spellings are WAME, WEM and WEMB

BIMAH

A raised platform in a synagogue. BEMA and BIMA are alternate spellings of the same thing

ZAMBO

An offensive word used to refer to the offspring of a Negro man and an American Indian woman

MAUBY

A drink made from boiled tree bark. MOBBY and MOBBIE are alternate spellings

COMBE

A narrow valley. This can also be spelled COOMB or COOMBE

JEMBE

In South Africa this word borrowed from Swahili is another way of referring to the garden tool, a HOE. It takes a great front hook to make the word DJEMBE which is a West African drum

POMBE

An African alcoholic drink

MOBEY

A slang term for a mobile phone. MOBY and MOBIE are also good as are the plurals MOBIES and MOBEYS.

HIMBO

A superficially stupid man, who is overly concerned with his appearance. HIMBOS is the only plural whereas the equivalent female term BIMBO pluralises to both BIMBOs and BIMBOES

KOMBU

A Japanese seaweed used to flavour stock. It can also be spelled KONBU

Happy Scrabbling
