Having a Sneaky P - Feb 23

At club night Cathy played AVID against me keeping a P on her rack to put in front of it in a high scoring spot. She was very unlucky that I held the other P and was able to take advantage of it first. There are only two P's in the bag, so it was worth the risk. It would have been an even better and safer play if the other P had already been played, but that and the bad luck shouldn't detract from what was a very nice play.

Anyway, that play was the inspiration for this list of 3 and 4 letter words where the only front hook is a P. It is not an exhaustive list. For example it is interesting that a P goes in front of SIS to make PSIS, but how likely are you to play SIS?

With two words for every combination there are quite a few words this week, so I won't distract you by giving you the definitions as well. If you like to learn you words by knowing what they mean you can have the fun of looking them up yourself.

AUA - PAUA HOH - PHOH LIE - PLIE

ROB - PROB YET - PYET AEON - PAEON

Happy Scrabbling

Patrick
